Happy Word Blitz is a language-learning application that generates fill-in-the-blank sentences using AI. By using the site you accept these terms. Happy Word Blitz 是一款利用 AI 生成填空句子的语言学习应用。使用本网站即表示你接受本条款。
The app plays audio, which uses mobile data. Practice sentences, the beginner courses and the listening pieces all play pre-recorded audio, so using Happy Word Blitz consumes network data. A sentence's audio file is roughly 20 KB; the app downloads only the sentences you are about to practise — one batch of 5, about 100 KB, fetched before the first one starts — never a whole library. As a rough guide, ten sentences is about 200 KB, and a listening piece of about ten minutes is a few megabytes. Accounts are identified by a system-generated user ID. You are responsible for saving your ID. You may set an optional password; once set, logging in and using the account requires it (we store only a salted hash, never the password itself). You may also bind a verified email to your account; the same email can then be used to recover the account — including resetting a forgotten password — on another device. Japanese handwriting recognition runs on your device: its matching method is adapted from KanjiCanvas (© Dominik Klein, MIT licence) and its character shapes are derived from KanjiVG (© Ulrich Apel, CC BY-SA 3.0; the derived data is shared under the same licence, see /hw/LICENSE.txt). The drawing never leaves your device. We store your user ID, scores, remaining credits, the list of sentences you have learned (for review mode) and payment order records. If you upload a profile photo, the photo as you sent it (reduced only if over 10 MB) and a small cropped copy are stored; the small copy is, after review, shown on the public world ranking next to your approved nickname or a partly hidden version of your user ID; your gender, if you choose one, is shown only to you. You may request access to, or deletion of, your data at any time via the contact email below. An account can also delete itself: "Delete account" in the profile panel (in the app: Me → Delete account), confirmed with the account's password or with a code sent to its registered email. Deletion is permanent and removes the account, its remaining credits (not refunded — ask for a refund first), learning history, badges, scores, ranking, nickname, photo and unlocked books. Paid orders and invoices are kept as tax records, as the law requires, and we keep the one-way fingerprint of the email so its free sentences cannot be claimed a second time. Your email is not stored in plain text. The email bound to your account is kept only as a one-way SHA-256 hash — a fingerprint from which the address cannot be read back, by us or by anyone who obtained our data. It is used only to check that an email you type belongs to your account (login, recovery, one free grant per email). While you verify an email, the address is held for at most 10 minutes so the code can be sent to it, then deleted. Two exceptions. An email you enter on an invoice request is kept only until the invoice QR code has been emailed to you — then it is deleted. We do not ask for an invoice title or tax number at all: you enter those into the tax system yourself when you scan the code. And if you tick the box agreeing to receive our weekly learning summary and product news, we keep that address in readable form solely to send you those emails; unsubscribe any time in "Your account", or with the unsubscribe link at the foot of every such email, and we delete it at once, keeping only the fingerprint. Speaking practice stays on your device. The 🎤 跟读 panel asks your browser for the microphone, and only while that panel is open. What you record is played back to you and drawn as a pitch curve in the page; it is never uploaded, never sent to any other company, and is discarded the moment you close the panel. Third-party AI. We use Anthropic's Claude to prepare learning material in advance — practice sentences, course content and word explanations — and Microsoft Azure voices to read it aloud; those requests contain no information about you. Learners outside mainland China: two features also use Claude on your behalf. The weekly study report (sent only if you ticked the box to receive it) is written by Claude from the week's study figures (sentences practised, accuracy by language and topic, goal days, a few words from recent mistakes) and the name you are shown as (your approved nickname, or the first part of your user ID); and when you tap a word nobody has looked up before, that word alone is sent to Claude for its meaning. Your email address, user ID, password, photo and recordings are never sent to it. Learners outside China. Wherever you live, these are your rights over the personal data we hold about you, and how to use them. Access, correction and deletion: you can see and change your nickname, photo, password and email, and delete your account, in the app or the profile panel at any time; for anything else — a copy of the data we hold about you, a correction, or deletion — write to the contact email in §8 from your registered email or quoting your user ID, and we will answer within 30 days, free of charge. You can withdraw consent to the weekly email at any time (see above). Where your data is kept: our service runs on Cloudflare's network, so your account data may be stored and processed outside your country, including in the United States; requests made through wordblitz.cn pass through our own server in Beijing, China. The companies that process data for us are Cloudflare (hosting and storage), Alibaba Cloud (our server for wordblitz.cn, and delivering sentence recordings to learners in mainland China), Anthropic (writing the weekly email, as described above), Microsoft Azure (voices; no information about you), Resend (delivering emails) and Apple (in-app purchases, under Apple's own privacy policy). None of them may use your data for their own purposes. Security incidents: if a breach of our systems is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you, and the authorities where the law requires it, as soon as we can. Complaints: write to us first; you may also complain to the privacy regulator where you live — for example the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, New Zealand's Office of the Privacy Commissioner, Singapore's Personal Data Protection Commission, Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission (個人情報保護委員会), Hong Kong's Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Commission, Macao's Personal Data Protection Bureau, Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Department, the Philippines' National Privacy Commission or India's Data Protection Board.
